The DAISY Award
Say thank you to an extraordinary nurse or midwife
Say thank you to an extraordinary nurse or midwife
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honours and celebrates the skilful, compassionate care nurses and midwives provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalisation, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses and midwives in a very public way. To learn more, visit www.daisyfoundation.org
Vhi has signed up to the DAISY Award where we want to recognise and celebrate the work of our nursing and midwifery colleagues by collecting nominations from patients, families and co-workers.
Anyone, including a patient, family member or colleague, who experiences or observes extraordinary compassionate care being provided to a patient by a nurse or midwife who is employed by Vhi in any one of our services.
