We pay the dentist directly
Dentists who are part of our dental network bill us directly. This means you don't need to do anything in relation to claims, if your dentist is part of this network.
Online dental claims portal
If your dentist isn't part of the dental network, you can claim 24/7 on any device with a dedicated dental claims portal.

PIN
A PIN code is emailed to you after you've inserted your log in details. Submit this to continue.
Submit
Provide details of your claim and upload receipts.
This external portal is provided by our underwriter.

Should you wish, you can post or email your claim by filling in the dental form.

Tax relief
All processed claims have an 'Explanation of Benefits' statement which provides a breakdown of payments made to you. This can assist you when calculating expenses eligible for tax relief which can be recovered by completing a Med 2 form. This is available from Revenue.
Dental cover on your health plan
Some dental procedures are covered under your health plan and can be claimed by your dental practitioner, provided they are registered with Vhi.
These procedures include:
- Extraction of wisdom teeth.
- Removal of buried tooth roots (single or multiple).
- Removal of impacted or unerupted teeth.
- Mandibular implants (osseointegrated implants).
- Periodontal or gingival surgery.
Your dental practitioner can confirm whether your treatment matches the relevant procedure description and treatment code. You can check if your treatment is covered by visiting your member account, MyVhi.
