Good news for Consumers as Vhi Healthcare Cuts Prices on some plans by up to 3%
0% Increase confirmed for all other plans
27th January 2015 – Vhi today announced some good news for hard-pressed consumers. Vhi will cut the prices of 7 of its most affordable plans by up to 3%, with effect from 1st March 2015. Vhi has also taken the unprecedented move of confirming that there will be no increase on any other plans at this time.
The announcement means that a family of 2 adults and 2 children on Vhi Healthcare’s “One Plan Starter Day to Day” plan renewing in March can save a further €55 on last year’s price rate or €91 in the case of a family on “Family Plan Level 1”. Vhi also announced that it will have a half price children’s offer on four plans (One Plan Family, Parents & Kids Excess Plan, Teachers’ Plan Select and Nurses’ Plan Select) for customers joining or renewing these plans from 1st March 2015 until 30th April 2015 (inclusive).
Speaking about the announcement John O’Dwyer, Chief Executive, Vhi Healthcare stated: “Our focus has always been on delivering quality healthcare to our customers at the most affordable price possible. By maintaining our focus on savings and efficiencies today we are in a position to announce premium reductions on 7 plans together with no price increase on any of our plans on the 1st March 2015.”
He said “The business is performing well and over the last two years has delivered solid financial results. We continue to attract new business and our most recent offers have proved very successful and attractive to young families. Also, we are committed to continuing to drive an ambitious cost containment programme with a view to securing savings which can be passed directly to our customers. This cost containment programme has focussed on a number of key areas such as reduced rates for Consultants and hospitals, increased use of clinical indicators and clinical audit and the continued movement of treatment to the most cost-efficient setting. All of these factors are facilitating today’s price decrease.”
He concluded “Today, we are reducing the prices of seven of our most affordable plans so that those most impacted by ongoing financial difficulties will benefit the most and encourage them to hold onto their health insurance. We are also keeping prices static for all other plans offering real value for money to all our loyal customers no matter what their healthcare requirements are. Vhi offers unbeatable value to all our customers and we will continue to lead the way in driving down costs while still offering access to quality healthcare cover.”
