Anne O’Connor appointed Managing Director Vhi Health and Wellbeing

 

4th April 2022 - Vhi is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne O’Connor as Managing Director, Vhi Health & Wellbeing. Anne joins Vhi from the HSE where she currently holds the positon of Chief Operations Officer. From August 2nd 2022 she will lead Vhi’s Health & Wellness business and will join Vhi Group’s Senior Leadership Team.

Vhi Health & Wellbeing, a subsidiary of the Vhi Group, delivers a range of health & wellbeing services through a growing network of healthcare facilities to Vhi’s 1.1 million customers. Vhi owns and operates healthcare services including Vhi SwiftCare Clinics, Health Screening Centre’s, Paediatric Clinics and Vhi Hospital@Home services.  In 2020 Vhi launched its first Vhi 360 Health Centre in Limerick and in February 2022 opened the doors to a new 5,000 square metre flagship facility in Carrickmines, Co Dublin. This new facility brings an integrative healthcare model to Ireland for the first time and has the potential to transform how care is delivered. Plans are also underway to develop a similar facility on the Northside of Dublin.

Vhi Health & Wellbeing is integral to the Vhi Group strategy. Anne O’Connor’s operational experience in overseeing the extensive HSE services and its staff will be invaluable as Vhi continues to execute this strategy in the years ahead.

Bio – Anne O’Connor

Anne O’Connor is currently Chief Operations Officer with the HSE with responsibility for the delivery of community based and acute hospital services. Since March 2020 she has been a key figure in the HSE response to the COVID 19 pandemic and the Cyber Attack of 2021. Anne trained and worked as an Occupational therapist in the UK and commenced her career with the Irish Health Service in 1995 as an Occupational Health Therapist. She has since worked in a wide variety of clinical and management roles and has been working at National Director Level since 2014 when she took on the role of National Director Mental Health. In 2018 she became the first National Director for Community Operations and was subsequently appointed Deputy Director General/ Chief Operation Officer in May 2018, leading the National Senior Operations team. She took on the role of interim Director General for the HSE in December 2018 for a period of 5 months pending permanent filling of the role.
